Real Numbers 📶 Down & Upload Ping & Jitter Free, No App

What You’re Measuring

The four numbers that matter

Each result tells you something different about your connection. Here is what they mean, in plain language.

Download

Download Speed

How fast data reaches you. This drives streaming, browsing, downloads and updates. It is the headline number your plan advertises.

Upload

Upload Speed

How fast data leaves you. Video calls, sending files, backups and security cameras all depend on a healthy upload.

Ping

Ping (Latency)

How long a round trip to the network takes, in milliseconds. Lower is better, and it is what makes video calls and gaming feel instant.

Jitter

Jitter

How steady your ping is. High jitter causes choppy calls and stutter even when your speed looks fine.

Private

No App, No Account

The test runs right in your browser against Cloudflare’s global network. We never receive or store your results.

Honest

Honest Estimates

Every speed test is an estimate. Wi-Fi, device limits and network load all affect results, so test a few times, wired if you can.

Slow Internet, Explained

Why your internet feels slower than your plan

Slow speeds are usually fixable, and the problem is often inside the building, not the line itself. These are the usual suspects we find.

Router in the wrong place

A router hidden in a cabinet or at the far end of the building leaves half your space with a weak signal.

Old or overloaded equipment

Aging routers and modems cannot keep up with modern plans, so you pay for speed you never see.

Wi-Fi congestion

Neighbors’ networks and crowded channels slow you down, especially in dense areas and office parks.

Too many devices

Phones, TVs, cameras and smart devices all share the same connection, and a busy network crawls.

Wiring and dead zones

Bad cabling, missing access points and dead zones cut speed room by room.

The plan itself

Sometimes the plan really is too small for how you work. We will tell you honestly if that is the case.

How It Works

Questions

Speed testing, answered

How accurate is this speed test?

It gives a good real-world estimate by moving data between your browser and Cloudflare’s global network. Like every speed test, results vary with Wi-Fi, device limits and network load, so run it a few times and use the best result.

Why is my result slower than the plan I pay for?

Plans are advertised as up to a certain speed over a wired connection. Wi-Fi distance, old equipment, congestion and busy networks all take a cut. If the gap is big, something is usually fixable.

What is a good internet speed?

For most homes, 100 Mbps download or more feels fast, and busy households or offices benefit from much more. Upload matters too, especially for video calls, backups and cameras. Ping under about 30 ms feels snappy.

What is the difference between Mbps and MB/s?

Mbps is megabits per second, which is how connections are sold. MB/s is megabytes per second, which is what downloads show. There are 8 bits in a byte, so 100 Mbps is about 12.5 MB/s.

Should I test on Wi-Fi or a wired connection?

Both, if you can. A wired test shows what your line can really do, and the Wi-Fi test shows what your devices actually experience. A big gap between the two points to a Wi-Fi problem we can fix.

Why do my results change every time?

Speeds vary with network load, time of day, other devices and where you are standing. That is normal. Consistently low results, or results far below your plan, are the sign something needs attention.

Do you see or store my results?

No. The test runs between your browser and Cloudflare’s network. We never receive, see or store your results. If you want our help, just send us the numbers with the form below.
